The Sangguniang Bayan of Calinog conducted its 19th Regular Session tackling important matters concerning governance, development programs, infrastructure, health services, and community welfare.

• Question Hour with Mr. Jeno Bechayda of the SRA regarding the problem on Red-Striped Soft-Scale Insect (RSSI) affecting sugarcane plantations.

• Review of the Barangay Annual Budget of Brgy. Aglonok
• Review of the SK Annual Budget of Brgy. Toyungan
• Review of Brgy Gama Peq Supplemental Budget

• Request from the Office of the Mayor for adoption and approval of MDC Resolutions concerning:
▪️ Funding of PPAs through Unappropriated Excess Collection for CY 2025
▪️ Reprogramming of Solar Power System installation at the Calinog Government Center
▪️ Reprogramming of infrastructure and water facility projects
▪️ Approval of Supplemental Investment Program 2026-02

The Sangguniang Bayan of Calinog convened for its 18th Regular Session for CY 2026 to deliberate matters concerning local governance, development programs, and municipal legislations for the welfare of the people of Calinog.

📌 Review of the SK Annual Budget of Brgy. Binolosan Grande

📌 Request authorizing the Local Chief Executive to enter into a Deed of Donation with the Bureau of Fire Protection for the donation of one (1) motorcycle;

📌 Request authorizing the Local Chief Executive to enter into a Tripartite MOA with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office VI and the Rural Improvement Club of Maspasan for the implementation of the Gulayan sa Bayan Project;

📌 Request authorizing the Local Chief Executive to enter into a MOA with the DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development relative to the implementation of the 2026 Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA);

The Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Calinog successfully conducted its 17th Regular Session for CY 2026 on May 18, 2026 at the SB Session Hall, Municipal Foodcourt (Temporary Municipal Hall), Poblacion Rizal Ilaud, Calinog, Iloilo.

Among the matters tackled during the session were:

🔹 Request for authority for the Local Chief Executive to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Local Government Unit of Iloilo for the implementation of the Cacao Development Project;

🔹 Committee deliberations on proposed measures, including:
• Creation of the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO);
• Finalization of Proposed ordinance declaring the Food Court Building as the Calinog Commercial Center and prescribing management and operational guidelines.
• Privilege Speech (PS) of Hon. Magpantay re: Proposed By-Pass Road traversing various barangays in the Municipality of Calinog and connecting to the municipalities of Dueñas and Bingawan.

• Inclusion of provisions creating the Local Tourism Council (LTC)

• Request for the enactment of an ordinance regulating the establishment and development of mountain trails intended for tourism purposes within the municipality

The Sangguniang Bayan of Calinog successfully conducted its 14th Regular Session, tackling key legislative and developmental matters for the municipality.

𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻:

• ✔️ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀)
The body reviewed and acted on several communications from the Province of Iloilo, including:
– Anti-drug programs and youth development initiatives (KKDAT)
– Measures addressing coconut pests and diseases
– Renewable energy access for public schools
– Strengthening road safety and traffic law enforcement
– Disaster risk reduction and rescue preparedness
– Infrastructure coordination and sanitation projects across LGUs
– Validation of municipal ordinances through adopted committee reports

• ✔️ 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿
The Sangguniang Bayan also considered requests for authority to enter into Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) for key programs:
– Installation of behavioral nudges for handwashing facilities in partnership with the Provincial Government
– Implementation of Supplementary Feeding and Milk Feeding Programs with DSWD
– Implementation of the Catfish Culture Project with BFAR

Ongoing discussions and committee referrals include:

– Review of the Local Revenue Code, Cemetery Code, and Market Code
– Public hearing for the proposed Calinog Commercial Center Ordinance
