In line with the Department of Education's commitment to strengthening foundational learning among young learners, the Schools Division Office of Imus City commenced the Division Workshop of Looping Classroom Implementers on Key Stage 1 Foundational Skills on June 2โ3, 2026, at the Tanza Oasis Hotel and Resort.
The two-day workshop is conducted pursuant to DepEd Order No. 18, s. 2025, otherwise known as the Implementing Guidelines of the DepEd ARAL Program. The activity gathers selected educators and school leaders to deepen their understanding and application of the looping classroom approach, which aims to provide continuity of instruction and enhance learners' foundational literacy and numeracy competencies.
The workshop is spearheaded by OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Lito A. Palomar and OIC-Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Glenda D.S. Catadman, whose leadership underscores the division's dedication to improving learning outcomes in the early grades.
Among the key objectives of the workshop are to discuss the looping classroom process, develop a looping classroom curriculum matrix, and demonstrate effective foundational literacy and numeracy strategies through simulation activities. These sessions are designed to equip classroom implementers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and instructional tools to effectively support Key Stage 1 learners.
In his message, OIC-SDS Palomar emphasized the importance of ensuring strong foundational skills among learners, highlighting that literacy and numeracy serve as the building blocks for lifelong learning and academic success. He encouraged participants to maximize the opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and share best practices that will benefit both teachers and learners.
Meanwhile, OIC-ASDS Catadman underscored the significance of the looping classroom strategy in fostering stronger teacher-learner relationships and providing sustained academic support throughout the formative years of education.
Through this initiative, the Schools Division Office of Imus City reaffirms its commitment to advancing quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education by empowering educators with innovative approaches that address the learning needs of
every child.
The workshop is expected to produce curriculum matrices
and instructional strategies that will further strengthen the implementation of the DepEd ARAL Program and
contribute to improved foundational learning outcomes
across schools in the division.
