(Legazpi City, June 23, 2026) The Provincial Government of Albay, through the Provincial Health Office, conducted a Hospital Disaster Risk Reduction Contingency Planning Workshop on June 19 to strengthen the preparedness of provincial government-managed hospitals during disasters and public health emergencies.

The workshop brought together representatives from the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office, the Department of Health Provincial Office, and provincial hospital chiefs and personnel to enhance emergency response and coordination mechanisms.

Participants reviewed disaster risk reduction protocols, discussed emergency response frameworks, and identified strategies to improve collaboration among hospitals and partner agencies before, during, and after emergencies.

The activity focused on developing coordinated contingency plans to help hospitals respond effectively to disasters while ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of essential health services.

The workshop forms part of the provincial government's continuing efforts to build a resilient healthcare system and improve disaster preparedness across Albay.

(Legazpi City, June 23, 2026) The Albay Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (APPDAO) has congratulated the Albay Association of the Deaf Inc. (AAD) on its 15th anniversary, recognizing the organization's contributions to the deaf community in the province.

In an official social media post, APPDAO expressed gratitude for AAD's continued service and support for persons with hearing disabilities.

The office also commended the association's efforts to break barriers and develop future leaders within the deaf community.

AAD, through its official page, thanked APPDAO, Governor Noel E. Rosal, and its former members for their continued support and contribution to the organization's growth over the years.

The anniversary celebration highlighted the association's continuing role in promoting inclusion and empowerment for the deaf community in Albay.

(Legazpi City, June 23, 2026) Ibinahagi ni Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO) Head Oscar Robert H. Cristobal ang mga programang isinagawa ng kanilang Plans and Operations Division bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagpapalakas ng disaster preparedness sa probinsya.

Sa isinagawang flag-raising ceremony ng Pamahalaang Lokal ng Albay, isa-isang tinalakay ni Cristobal ang mga naging koordinasyon at aktibidad ng kanilang opisina, kabilang ang iba’t ibang pulong na nakatuon sa kahandaan at assessment ng mga programa para sa disaster risk reduction and management.

Kabilang sa mga binigyang-diin ang dalawang matagumpay na Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), kabilang ang pinakahuling isinagawa noong Hunyo 18.

Nagsagawa rin ang APSEMO ng apat na tree-pruning activities at iba pang mga aktibidad kaugnay ng emergency preparedness, response planning, disaster drills, at Baywatch coordination.

Ang mga inisyatibong ito, kasama ng iba’t ibang capacity-building at training programs, ay nagpalakas hindi lamang sa kahandaan ng mga komunidad kundi maging sa kamalayan ng publiko sa pamamagitan ng paglalabas ng mga advisory, mabilis na pagtugon sa mga insidente, at pagbibigay ng humanitarian assistance sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Albay.
