On June 17, Czechia's women's national volleyball team took on Olympic, World Cup, and Volleyball Nations League champions Italy. Despite the 0–3 scoreline, it was a very equal match, our players competed bravely and proved that they were far from an easy opponent for Italy, demonstrating the growth and strength of Czech volleyball.

Congratulations to the team for representing Czechia with pride and determination🇨🇿

Next up: another world-class opponent as the Czech women return to the court today, June 18 against the United States.

Vzácná návštěva dnes v Manile! 🔥 Na hotel nás přišel pozdravit a popřát hodně štěstí velvyslanec Karel Hejč a jeho zástupkyně Eva Tenzin. Jako poděkování za velkou pomoc se zajištěním ubytování, haly, posilovny i dopravy jsme si pro ně připravili podepsané dresy i volejbalový míč. Ještě jednou děkujeme Czech Embassy Manila za veškerou pomoc 👏

🦅🇵🇭 As part of the continuing celebration of 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila was honoured to take part in the opening of the exhibition of creative works by Ms. Bing Famoso named “𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐋𝐀𝐤𝐛𝐚𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞” at the NCCA Gallery in Intramuros.

The exhibit offers a powerful space to reflect on the state of the Philippine Eagle, the richness of the country’s biodiversity, and the shared responsibility to protect it for future generations. Through art and storytelling, AGILAkbay brings conservation closer to people and highlights the deep connection between nature, culture, and national identity.

🦅🇵🇭 The Philippine Eagle—Haribon or “King of Birds”—is not only a powerful national symbol of the Philippines, but also a vital guardian of its forest ecosystems. As one of the rarest and most endangered raptors in the world, its survival reflects the health of the country’s biodiversity—and our shared responsibility to protect it.

This shared responsibility came to life at the opening of (4–10 June), launched by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB) together with Philippine Eagle Foundation and partners at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City. The event brought together conservationists, government representatives, artists, and the public for a morning of inspiring messages, a symbolic ceremony honouring Girlie the oldest Philippine Eagle living in captivity, and engaging exhibits and talks that made conservation tangible and accessible. Among the speakers, Ambassador Karel Hejč delivered a message of support, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in protecting this critically endangered species.

The Czech Republic is proud to contribute to these efforts through its cooperation with the Philippine Eagle Foundation and DENR–BMB, together with Zoo Liberec, Zoo Ostrava, and ZOO Olomouc. From improving breeding techniques to sharing expertise, this partnership is already delivering results—such as the successful hatching of the eagle chick “Bayani”, a powerful reminder that when countries work together, conservation can succeed.
