In support of Brigada Eskwela 2026, with the theme "Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman," the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Malungon headed by Mr. Jessie A. Dela Cruz visited Danao Integrated School in Barangay Tamban, Malungon, Sarangani Province to extend assistance in preparation for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.

The Local Government Unit of Malungon led by Reynaldo F. Constatino (Municipal Mayor and MDRRMC Chairperson) through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) led by Jessie A. Dela Cruz (MDRRM Officer / Municipal Administrator-Designate) successfully conducted Capacity-Building Activity on Standard First Aid, Basic Life Support, Rescue Vehicle Handling, and Simulation Exercises on Vehicular Accidents and Mass Evacuation on May 20-22, 2026 at Barangay Ampon, Malungon, Sarangani Province under the leadership of Hon. Maritess A. Argonitas (Barangay Captain).

The training also highlighted the importance of immediate and correct response during emergencies to help prevent further injuries and save lives.
During the Basic Life Support session, participants learned and demonstrated proper Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), rescue breathing, choking management, and patient handling techniques. Hands-on demonstrations and simulation exercises were conducted to ensure that participants gained confidence and competence in responding to real-life emergency scenarios.
The activity also emphasized disaster preparedness, teamwork, and community cooperation in providing immediate assistance before professional medical responders arrive. Through this training, Barangay Ampon strengthened its capacity to respond effectively to emergencies and disasters, promoting a safer and more resilient community.

The Municipality of Malungon, headed by Hon. Reynaldo F. Constantino (Municipal Mayor / MDRRMC Chairperson), through the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Jessie A. Dela Cruz (MDRRM Officer / Municipal Administrator-Designate), conducted a Basic Swift Water Rescue Techniques and Basic Mountain Search & Rescue Techniques Training on May 13-15, 2026 at Barangay Upper Biangan, Malungon, Sarangani Province, under the leadership and support of Hon. Diosdado Emejas Sr. (Barangay Captain).

Participants actively demonstrated various rescue techniques including Basic Swift Water Rescue such as wading, river crossing, defensive swim, and aggressive swim, as well as Basic Mountain Search & Rescue techniques including anchoring, knot tying, and highline set-up.

This activity aimed to enhance the disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities of the municipality, ensuring that responders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to water- and mountain-related emergencies.

The LGU Malungon led by Hon. Reynaldo F. Constantino (Municipal Mayor / MDRRMC Chairperson) and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office headed by Jessie A. Under the leadership of Hon. Nonito V. Nuñez.

They participated in the said event as they demonstrate the Basic Swift Water Rescue (Wading, River Crossing, Defensive Swim, Agressive Swim), Basic Mountain Search & Rescue (Anchoring, Knot Tying, Highline Set-up) this activity aimed to enhance our disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
