Their movement extends far beyond the surface, the community fights not only for equal rights and the eradication of gender-based discrimination, but also actively challenges the very structures of government and the system that hinders their right to live freely and equitably.

Their identity stands as an undeniable truth, a truth that cannot be erased or dimmed by any means of destruction, prejudice, or violence. We stand with them in the fight, we honor their journey, and we celebrate with them. Pride is indeed a protest and we live in it. Happy Pride Month! 🌈🙌🏻

The Rizal Technological University Political Science Society (POLSSOC) successfully participated in the 4𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒆 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 of the Academics Committee of the Association of Political Science Organizations of the Philippines, Inc. (APSOP) through face-to-face assembly and held at the Political Science Debate Room, 5th Floor, Main Academic Building (MAB).

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 𝑨𝑷𝑺𝑶𝑷 𝑨𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒆 for graciously inviting POLSSOC to this final meeting. Aside from the Roll Call and Approval of the Agenda and warm 𝑲𝒖𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏, the assembly served as a wonderful opportunity for fun, bonding, and meaningful camaraderie as we concluded the term with the APSOP Academics Committee Term-Ender Celebration! ✨

Through collaborations like this, we continue to bridge our institutions, share visions, and foster purposeful discourse that inspires us to grow as student leaders committed to progress.

𝗞𝘂𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗻𝗮 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗮𝗻? 🤔🔍

Natanong niyo ba kami kung kumusta ang pamahalaan? Ang pamahalaan ng Pilipinas ay dapat binubuo ng mga tapat at edukadong mambabatas na ang tanging mithiin ay sugpuin ang katiwalian at magsilbi sa bayan. Ngunit sa kasalukuyan, ang lehislatura ay tila naging isang teleserye sa hapon na nagiging pang-telebabad pa sa gabi. Ano na nga ba ang nangyayari sa gobyerno?

Kumusta ang pamahalaan? Ito ay naging pugad ng transaksyonal na pulitika. Noong Mayo 11, 2026, napatalsik si Vicente ‘Tito’ C. Sotto III at naluklok si Alan Peter S. Cayetano bilang bagong Pangulo ng Senado sa pamamagitan ng isang mabilis na kudeta. Hawak ngayon ng lideratong Cayetano ang kapangyarihan hindi dahil sa reporma kundi dahil sa pagbebenta ng proteksyon. Ang kritikal na ika-labing tatlo na boto ay nakuha mula kay Ronald 'Bato' M. dela Rosa kapalit ng protective custody ng Senado laban sa warrant of arrest ng ICC. Ipinapakita nito na ang kontrol sa institusyon ay nakasalalay na lamang sa kung sino ang kayang magsilbing kalasag ng mga mambabatas na may kinakaharap na pananagutan sa batas.

Kasabay nito, nasaksihan din ang tensyon sa mismong koridor ng Senado nang magkaroon ng komosyon at putukan sa ikalawang palapag na kinasangkutan ng suspendidong Sergeant-at-Arms ng Senado. Bukod sa takot na idinulot nito sa media at mga staff, nakunan din ang reaksyon ng mga mambabatas dahil sa sunod-sunod na live broadcast ng mga senador mula sa mayorya. Sa gitna ng diskurso ukol sa seguridad at integridad ng Senado bilang institusyong dapat nagwawaksi sa korapsyon at kriminalidad, ang mga kaganapan ay tila naging isang teleserye sa telebabad. Imbis na pambansang interes, umikot ang liderato sa personal na mithiin, kabilang na ang pagiging emosyonal ni Pia S. Cayetano habang ikinukuwento ang naganap na di-umanong pag-atake, at ang pagkuwestiyon niya sa kawalan ng pangangamusta mula sa mga minoryang mambabatas. Sumasalamin ito sa malalim na hidwaan sa pagitan ng mayorya at minorya sa Senado, agawan ng impluwensya, at pagkaantala ng proseso ng pagsasadiwa ng mandato ng konstitusyon. Kung tutuusin, tayo ay humaharap sa isang constitutional crisis kung saan ang batas ay isinasantabi para sa kapakanan ng mga mambabatas, sa halip na para sa kapwa Pilipino na siyang tunay na nakasaad sa mandato nito. Sa puntong ito, hindi mapigilang mapatanong ng marami, kung kumusta na nga ba talaga ang pamahalaan?

Masasalamin sa mga kaganapang ito na ang direksyon ng pamahalaan ay patuloy na hinuhubog ng alyansa, personal na seguridad ng mga mambabatas, at agawan sa impluwensya. Habang ang Senado ay pilit na bumabangon mula sa mga isyu ng seguridad, ang tunay na kasagutan sa tanong na ito ay nakasalalay sa kung paano mananatiling tapat ang institusyon sa kanyang mandato, ang magsilbi sa bawat Pilipino nang may integridad, kalayaan, at pananagutan sa batas.

Ngayon, talamak na naman ang mga usapan sa plenaryo tungkol sa pagpapalit ng liderato sa mayorya. Sa tingin mo, paano kaya makakaapekto ang ganitong paraan ng pagpapalit ng liderato at ang mga isyu sa seguridad at kalayaan ng Senado bilang isang pangunahing institusyon ng pamahalaan?
