GalenX achieved a key commercialization milestone after securing the trademark registration for “Aghamiya,” a locally developed three-dimensional (3D) bioprinted human skin equivalent (HSE) technology. The development of the HSE was completed with support from the Department of Science and Technology.

Congratulations to Herbanext Lab, University of St. La Salle (USLS), and University of San Agustin for winning the KATHA Award under the Functional Foods, Health Foods, and Alternative Foods Category at IFEX Philippines for “MungGo!”, an innovative low-purine munggo product designed for individuals with uric acid concerns.

Supported by the DOST NICER (Niche Centers in the Regions for R&D) Program and monitored by the DOST-PCHRD, the SPC-FUEL for Health initiative (Sugarcane, Pulses, and Cacao Products from Functional Food Innovations to Enhance Life) aims to uplift communities through nutrition. Specifically, Project 2: PULSES focuses on the processing and utilization of Lagundi and local legumes using simple and economical strategies.

Also featured during the exhibit was the TÁ TEA Series, another innovation under the PULSES project.

A proud example of research and innovation transforming local food resources into healthier options for Filipinos.
