Hindi aksidente ang tinatamasa nating kalayaan; ito ay pinunit natin mula sa mahigpit na pagkakahawak ng mga mananakop sa pamamagitan ng dugo at sakripisyo. Ang mga sugat ng nakaraan ang siyang naging sinulid na hinabi ng ating mga bayani upang makabuo ng isang matibay na kasaysayan. Ngayon, hamon sa ating kabataan na tahiin ang mga pangarap ng kahapon sa katotohanan ng bukas—upang ang tela ng ating kalayaan ay kailanman hindi na muling mapunit.

Ang tunay na paglaya ay hindi lamang nagtatapos sa pagwawagayway ng watawat; ito ay ang pananatiling mulat, mapanuri, at may pakialam sa mga nangyayari sa ating paligid. Sapagkat ang kalayaan ay isang tanglaw—siguraduhin nating maliwanag at buo ang kinabukasang ating tatahakin.

Gamitin natin ang ating karapatang makibahagi sa diskurso at tumanaw ng pananagutan. Maging matalino tayo sa pagpili ng mga pinunong may tunay na malasakit, tapat na naglilingkod, at hindi ang mga muling magpupunit sa ating bansa para sa sariling interes. Maging malaya tayo sa korapsyon, krimen, at kabiguan sa lipunan! ✊
