Seafood products from Region 1 attracted strong consumer interest and expanded their market reach during the Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (MAFBEX) 2026 held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

Among the exhibitors were BFAR Region 1-assisted enterprises ELDICA Seafood Processing and Sta. Catalina Food Processing Inc., which showcased a variety of value-added fishery products, including bottled bangus and flavorful crab paste. Throughout the expo, visitors flocked to their booth to learn more about locally processed seafood products and support homegrown enterprises from the region.

The participation generated Php 82,670.00 in total sales, highlighting the growing demand for high-quality processed seafood products from Region 1. Beyond direct sales, the event also provided valuable opportunities for the enterprises to engage with potential buyers and business partners through market matching activities, opening doors for future business collaborations.

Participants further benefited from attending fisheries forum conducted during the expo, where they gained insights into emerging industry trends, market opportunities, and strategies for business growth.

Through their participation in MAFBEX 2026, Region 1 seafood processors successfully introduced their products to a broader consumer base, strengthened their market presence, and demonstrated the regionโ€™s capability to produce innovative and competitive seafood products.
