FO1 John Henry I. Oducado of Pavia Fire Station served as the live guest on the "Fire Talk" segment of the 45th Episode of BFP TV Wow Nami.

During the program, he discussed the Bureau of Fire Protection's safe school initiatives, with a focus on the growing use of Electric Vehicles (EVs) as transportation for learners.

The discussion also highlighted important fire safety considerations involving lithium-ion batteries, EV-related fire risks, and response strategies for firefighters and emergency responders. The segment aimed to promote public awareness and preparedness in ensuring safer schools and communities amid emerging transportation technologies.

Pavia Fire Station personnel, FO1 John Henry I Oducado, augmented with the BFP Special Rescue Force during the Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Operations Exercise (ITDOEx) “Pag-ugyon 2026” in Miag-ao, Iloilo, serving as a member of the Search, Rescue, and Retrieval Team.

As part of the simulation exercise for territorial defense sperheaded by the Philippine Army, a missile attack scenario resulted in the collapse of structures, prompting the deployment of the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 6 Special Rescue Force. The team conducted search and rescue operations for trapped and stranded civilians, demonstrating proficiency in collapsed structure rescue, victim extrication, and coordinated emergency response.

The exercise highlighted the operational readiness, interoperability, and specialized capabilities of the BFP Special Rescue Force in responding to complex and multi-faceted emergencies that may arise during territorial defense-related incidents, reinforcing the Bureau’s commitment to protecting lives and enhancing national resilience during times of crisis.

Pavia Fire Station headed by FSINSP MARY ANGELIE B JALA, Municipal Fire Marshal conducted an advanced training session as a continuation of the Basic Skills for Responders Training at Vitarich Corporation. On the same day, a Fire Drill Evaluation was conducted to assess the organization’s emergency preparedness and response capability. The drill included activation of the fire alarm system, evacuation procedures, accountability at the designated assembly area, initial fire suppression using portable extinguishers, and response operations of the company fire brigade, including the use of PPE and SCBA and coordination under emergency conditions.

A total of twenty (20) participants completed the training and participated in the fire drill evaluation.

Pavia Fire Station headed by FSINSP MARY ANGELIE B JALA led this morning’s traditional flag-raising ceremony.

Following the ceremony, the Bureau of Fire Protection 6, represented by FSINSP MARY ANGELIE B JALA together with FO1 John Henry I Oducado, awarded a Plaque of Appreciation to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Pavia, represented by Mr. Rommel Jamerlan, in recognition of their invaluable support and assistance through the provision of tools and equipment used during the Bureau’s preparation and training for the National Fire Olympics 2026.

Their support greatly contributed to the team’s outstanding achievement as Champion in the Life Extrication Category and Overall 1st Place Nationwide.
