Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado, Population Program Officer I, conducted a monthly monitoring visit to the Pavia NHS "Teens Nook" Teen Center together with Ma’am Maria Christina R. Sendin, Teen Center Coordinator, and the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) beneficiaries. 🏠

The Teen Center serves as a safe and youth-friendly space that provides adolescents with access to various services, resources, and programs designed to support their growth, health, and overall well-being.

Its goal is to create a supportive environment where teenagers can learn, socialize, develop life skills, and seek guidance on important issues affecting their lives.

The Iloilo Provincial Population Office - Municipality of Pavia conducted an Updating Course on the 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦-𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐒-𝐁𝐈𝐌𝐒) for the twenty-seven (27) Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs) from the eighteen (18) barangays of Pavia, Iloilo.

The activity aimed to strengthen the linkage between the Barangay Information Management System (BIMS) and the roles of BSPOs in maintaining demographic records, updating barangay profiles, and ensuring accurate population data.

We are grateful to Ms. Ma. Socorro Joy D. Garcia, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of DILG-Pavia, and Mr. Barry T. Basiya, Population Program Officer I of the Municipality of Leganes, for sharing their valuable insights and expertise as Subject Matter Experts during the activity.

The activity concluded with a renewed commitment from the BSPOs to ensure accurate data, timely reporting, and effective information management in their respective barangays.

The Pavia Population Office also welcomed its newest BSPOs and Special Program for Employment of Students (SPESS) beneficiaries, who will contribute to our continuing efforts to deliver responsive and data-driven services to the community.

Together, let us continue building stronger communities through accurate data and informed decision-making.

The PMOC Team conducted regular Pre-Marriage Orientation and Counseling (PMOC) sessions for seven (7) would-be couples at the Multi-Purpose Counseling and Family Development Center. The activity was facilitated by Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado (Population Office), Ms. Edna C. Lizada (MSWDO), and Ms. Criselda J. Gorriceta (MHO).

The activity aimed to prepare couples for married life by promoting responsible parenthood and strengthening parental approaches that contribute to stronger families, resilient communities, and ultimately, a stronger nation, consistent with the development agenda of MoRProGRes Iloilo.

May 10, 2026 ~ Working on a Weekend!

A Symposium on S*x Education was conducted for the teenagers of Pavia Christian Reformed Church and King's Kids Student Center at Brgy. Aganan, Pavia, Iloilo.

The Iloilo Provincial Population Office - Municipality of Pavia, led by Ms. Lalaine Kay E. Decado, was honored to be invited as a subject matter expert on S*x Education under the Adolescent Health and Youth Development (AHYD) Program, which is identified as Strategic Action No. 2 of the Philippine Population and Development Plan of Action. Joining the activity were population staff Ms. Rhea Selose and BSPO President Ms. Marvie Joaquin.

The program aims to support the holistic development and growth of adolescents and youth, enabling them to become responsible and productive members of society. This is pursued through the establishment of School-Based Multi-Purpose Teen Centers and the implementation of Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) advocacies.

On behalf of the office, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Girlie Yulo, Project Director of King's Kids Student Center, the Complementary Intervention (CIV) Education Scholars as the organizers, and Pastor Calvin Cush Nyman G. Itona, Church Pastor, for the invitation and warm accommodation.
