P R I O R I T I Z I N G

Consider a page. It has margins. The space between the edge of the page and the text
gives you an area to write your reflections. Your eyes have an easier time reading due to this
white space. And it makes the page look nicer, more breathable. Like pages, our lives need
margins.

To prevent the margins in our lives from disappearing, they need to be defined and defended.
When you prioritize, and then make decisions based on those priorities, you have to make
sacrifices elsewhere. Adding something else that doesn’t fit into your priorities means less
margin time. If you add something, you have to cut back on other things whether sleep,
devotional time, life group or family time. Be mindful to defend the space on your page so you
can be fully available for your priorities!
Prioritizing keeps you focused on what is most important: God, family/ relationships and
career/ministry. Prioritizing means you may even need to say no to something really.
