LOOK: In line with Secretary Francis N. Tolentinoโ€™s commitment to promoting workplace safety and disaster preparedness, the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026.

Spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the activity aims to enhance public awareness and strengthen disaster resilience by testing the effectiveness of local emergency response and recovery plans during seismic events.

More DOLE Trabaho Agad Job Fairs in Quezon City underscore Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentinoโ€™s commitment to expanding access to employment opportunities for Filipino jobseekers.

A combined total of 108 near-hires were recorded during the DOLE Trabaho Agad Job Fairs in SM Novaliches on June 15 to 16 and WalterMart North Edsa on June 16. These near hires were fresh graduates who advanced to the final interview stage with participating employers and are being considered for employment.

Both sites registered a total of 53 local and overseas employers, collectively offering 3,734 job vacancies for jobseekers. As of press time, the Department of Labor and Employment โ€“ National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR), through its Quezon City Field Office also recorded 17 hired on the spot (HOTS) applicants.

โ€œSobrang laking tulong po ito saโ€™kin [ng DOLE Trabaho Agad Job Fairs], lalo fresh graduate po ako. Makakatulong po sa pag-grow ko sa hospitality and management. Importante po itong job fair na ito para sa mga kabataan or mga taong gustong magtrabaho at maghanap ng trabaho,โ€ he said.

Participating employers came from various industries across Metro Manila, including Manufacturing, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Wholesale and Retail Trade, Construction, Transportation and Logistics, Food and Beverage, Hospitality, and other key sectors.

DOLE Secretary Tolentino emphasized the Departmentโ€™s commitment to providing accessible employment opportunities and assisting jobseekers in securing decent and productive work through government employment facilitation services.

โ€œKasama sa ating pagdiriwang ngayong Araw ng Kalayaan ay ang ating pagkilala sa katapangan, malasakit, at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani na siyang dahilan kaya tayo ay nagdiriwang ng ating kasarinlan. Kasabay nito, ang kagawaran ay nag-organisa ng Trabaho Agad Job Fair kung saan ako po ay lubos na umaasa na lahat ng ating mga jobseekers ay ating matutulungan na makahanap ng trabaho mula sa serbisyong ito,โ€ Secretary Tolentino said.

LOOK: In line with DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentinoโ€™s commitment to strengthening partnerships with labor and employment sectors, the Philippine Trade and General Workers Organization (PTGWO) was conferred the Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) Award on June 17, 2026.

The event brings together labor leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to recognize and celebrate PTGWO's partnership and contributions in advancing workers' welfare and labor development initiatives. This is in lieu with Department Secretary Atty. Francis Tolentino's commitment in strengthening the partnership with labor and employment sector.

In an inspirational message from DOLE-NCR Regional Director Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol through Assistant Regional Director Atty. Jude Thomas P. Trayvilla stressed that the partnership represents the unwavering commitment of the PTGWO and the department to advance workersโ€™ welfare and help bring DOLEโ€™S programs and services closer to the communities.

โ€œBilang isang DOLE Accredited Co-Partner, napakahalaga ng inyong papel upang mas mailapit sa ating komunidad ang mga programa at serbisyo ng Kagawaran, kabilang na dito ang aming livelihood and emergency employment services at pang ibang inisyatibo ng Kagawaran na naglalayong matulungan ang mga kababayan nating nangangailangan ng access sa ligtas, marangal, at produktibong trabaho,โ€ Atty. Trayvilla stated.

Moreover, DOLE-NCR Quezon City Field Office Senior Labor and Employment Officer Prince Billy Libed also encouraged the Philippine Trade and General Workers Organization to maximize the partnership.

โ€œI encourage you to maximize this partnership by developing meaningful programs, strengthening collaborations, promoting worker welfare, and supporting enterprise development,โ€ he said.

Accredited Co-Partner (ACP) is a trusted and qualified partner recognized by DOLE to provide management, technical, consultancy, education or training services in support of DOLE-AMP projects.

Massive crowds are arriving at the venue to explore career options from 27 participating companies, which are offering a combined total of 1,809 local positions.

In a special video message, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Atty. Francis N. Tolentino expressed his full support to both the participating employers and job seekers, emphasizing the department's commitment to bridging the gap between talent and opportunity. The activity aims to connect Filipino job seekers with meaningful employment opportunitiesโ€”both local and overseas.

HAPPENING NOW (JUNE 17, 2027): On its second day, the Independence Day Job Fair at SM Novaliches continues to open doors to employment opportunities for Filipino job seekers and youth through the continuous commitment of the Department of Labor and Employment under the leadership of Francis Tolentino.

Following the successful opening yesterday, applicants continue to flock to the venue to explore various career opportunities offered by participating companies. Around 700 graduates and alumni from Quezon City University also attended the job fair in search of employment opportunities and career growth.

The activity aims to connect more Filipino youth and job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities and accessible government services.

Tolentinoโ€™s commitment to expanding access to decent and productive employment through the DOLE Trabaho Agad Job Fair (Araw ng Kalayaan), more jobseekers continue to benefit from employment opportunities, most recently at SM City Novaliches on June 16, 2026.

Through a special video message, Secretary Tolentino stressed the importance of remembering the nationโ€™s freedom in light of giving employment opportunities that would free Filipinos from unemployment.

DOLE-NCR Quezon City Field Office organized the job fair in partnership with the City Government of Quezonโ€™s Public Employment Service (PESO), Quezon City University (QCU), and SM Malls, which offered 1,925 vacancies from 26 local employers.

DOLE-NCR Quezon City Field Office Director Rowella V. Grande was also present in the event together with Alysa Marie D. Martin, Assistant Mall Manager of SM Novaliches, and Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, President of Quezon City University.
