PNP ENSURES CONTINUED SAFETY OF LEARNERS FOLLOWING SCHOOL INCIDENTS IN CAVITE AND TACLOBAN

The Philippine National Police (PNP) assured the public of continued vigilance and coordinated action following recent isolated cases reported in two schools in Cavite and another in Tacloban City, which are now subject of ongoing validation and investigation by concerned police units.

Authorities emphasized that responding units immediately acted on-site, coordinated with school officials, and ensured the safety of the area and individuals involved. The cases are being carefully assessed to establish the full circumstances, while ensuring that the rights and welfare of all concerned are respected throughout the process.

The PNP stressed that there is no cause for public panic, but rather a continued call for awareness, cooperation, and responsible information sharing.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., extended his condolences to the families affected and urged calm as authorities complete their work on the ground.

“We extend our deepest sympathy to the families affected by these unfortunate incidents. Nandito po ang PNP, kasama ang ating mga partners, upang tiyakin na ang bawat paaralan ay ligtas para sa ating mga kabataan. We ask for calm and understanding as we complete the necessary validation and strengthen our preventive measures,” the Chief PNP said.

In line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to further strengthen community safety and protect learners, the PNP has intensified coordination with the Department of Education and local government units. This forms part of the PNP Focused Agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which prioritizes proactive security measures, faster response systems, and stronger inter-agency coordination in schools and other sensitive areas.

As immediate action, all concerned police regional and provincial offices have been directed to conduct a review of existing school safety protocols, including access control systems, coordination mechanisms between schools and police units, emergency response preparedness, implementation of child protection and anti-bullying policies, and availability of guidance and psychosocial support services.

The PNP also directed field units to enhance police visibility in school areas and maintain close coordination with school administrators to strengthen early warning and response systems.

The PNP further appealed to the public to avoid speculation and rely only on verified information as authorities continue their validation and investigation, emphasizing that calm cooperation and responsible reporting are essential in maintaining public order and community trust.

As efforts continue to reinforce safe learning environments across the country, the PNP reaffirmed its commitment anchored on Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman, reflecting a police service that is responsive, preventive, and felt in every community.

LOOK | VIPD 🇵🇭 One Flag. One Nation. One Filipino Spirit.

As we honor the Philippine Flag and the spirit of Philippine Independence, the VIPD, under the leadership of PCOL JULBARI V ASDANI, JR., reaffirms its commitment to uphold peace, protect the people, and serve with honor, integrity, and patriotism.

The Philippine flag was first officially unfurled on June 12, 1898, during the declaration of Philippine independence in Kawit, Cavite. It features a sun with eight rays representing the first eight provinces that revolted against Spanish rule, while the three stars symbolize Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Designed and sewn in Hong Kong under the leadership of Emilio Aguinaldo’s delegation, the flag stands as a powerful symbol of national identity and sovereignty. It is uniquely displayed upside down during times of war, with the red field placed above the blue, signifying courage and patriotism in defense of the nation.

It also embodies the enduring values of unity, freedom, and national pride among Filipinos, serving as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by heroes in the struggle for independence. Today, it continues to inspire patriotism and respect for sovereignty, especially during national celebrations and civic observances across the country.

Mabuhay ang Watawat ng Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang Sambayanang Pilipino! 🇵🇭
