ILOILO CITY, ILOILO – A potential labor strike at Universal Robina Corporation Sugar and Renewables (URC SURE Passi) in San Enrique, Iloilo was successfully averted after its management and union, the URC Passi Rank and File Independent Union–Federation of Free Workers (FFW), reached an amicable settlement in their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dispute, ensuring continued operations and industrial peace in the company.

City of San Fernando, Pampanga – An explosives, blasting systems, and mining infrastructure solutions manufacturing company in Bataan and its rank-and-file union successfully settled seven bargaining deadlock issues on 8 June 2026 through conciliation-mediation proceedings at the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Branch (RCMB) III Office.

The settlement enabled the parties to conclude negotiations covering the fourth and fifth years of their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for the period 01 June 2026 to 31 May 2028. The agreement stemmed from a Preventive Mediation Case handled by RCMB III.

After a series of discussions facilitated by the Branch, management and union representatives reached mutually acceptable agreements on seven unresolved economic and welfare provisions, namely wages, sick leave, medicine allowance, retirement benefits, uniform allowance, membership, and signing bonus.

The successful resolution of these bargaining deadlock issues resulted in an estimated economic package amounting to P10,147,090.00 for the fourth and fifth years of the CBA. The negotiated benefits will directly impact and improve the welfare of 50 rank-and-file employees.

Intensive efforts were undertaken, which successfully averted the filing of a Notice of Strike. Such filing could have further complicated the resolution of the parties’ deadlock issues.

ZAMBOANGA CITY | RBD Gerie Lampitco joins various Department of Labor and Employment - Regional Coordinating Committee (DOLE RCC IX) members for the 2nd Quarter Regular Meeting spearheaded by DOLE 9 Regional Director Albert Gutib, today, 09 June 2026 at the LM Metro Hotel.

The DOLE RCC IX focused on discussing the different directives of the new DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino and how to effectively manage and implement the same in Region IX.

Moreover, the different heads of agencies also gather to discuss the upcoming 2026 Araw ng Kalayaan activities prepared for its constituents in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
