The UP College of Law Library mourns the passing of Prof. Myrna S. Feliciano, a dedicated and highly respected law librarian whose invaluable service and leadership greatly contributed to the growth and development of the library's collection and its legal research resources.

Prof. Feliciano served as Acting Law Librarian at the UP College of Law Library beginning in 1965 before she was appointed Director of the Institute of Judicial Administration (IJA) in December 1988.

A disciplined, assertive, and deeply committed law librarian, she demonstrated remarkable leadership, professionalism, and confidence in managing both the library staff and generations of law students. Despite her young age when she assumed leadership of the library, she became well known for her firm dedication to maintaining order, discipline, and respect within the institution while upholding the highest standards of librarianship.

Principled and unwavering in enforcing library policies, Prof. Feliciano worked tirelessly to preserve the integrity of the library’s collections and uphold the highest standards of librarianship. Beyond her strictness was a hardworking and intellectually engaged professional who assisted distinguished legal scholars in citation checking, indexing, and source verification, further enriching her expertise in legal bibliography and research.

She also spearheaded efforts to expand and strengthen the library’s holdings, particularly in international law. Through institutional support, alumni contributions, and resource development initiatives, she helped build a distinguished collection of rare legal materials, treaty series, reports, and Spanish legal texts.

Prof. Feliciano will be remembered as a feisty yet highly respected librarian whose passion for preserving knowledge, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to the UP College of Law Library left a lasting legacy in the field of law librarianship.

Her remarkable contributions and unwavering service will surely be missed. May her life’s work and dedication forever be remembered with gratitude and admiration.

May her soul find eternal peace. 🕊️

Kapihan sa Law Commons returns from May 18-29 in Diliman, BGC, and Iloilo to give students space for long study nights, quick breaks, and everything finals season asks of us.

Diliman and BGC:
Mondays to Fridays - 7PM-12MN
Saturdays - 1PM-5PM

Iloilo:
Mondays to Fridays - 1PM onwards

To support the extended hours, the LSG will once again provide free coffee and non-coffee options, snacks, and other amenities for students. Bluebooks will also be available for purchase from the LSG members on duty.

Please note that, during this period, the Diliman and BGC Student Lounge will be reserved for the use of the Bar Candidates. The following classrooms will instead serve as Kapihan spaces from 9PM-12MN:

UNEXPECTED DOWNTIME NOTICE & STATUS REPORT

The team has troubleshooted the issue last Thursday, 7 May 2026 and network was restored as of 7PM of the same day. However, while we have escalated the problem with the vendor of the affected appliance, the same issue has recurred yesterday, 11 May 2026 and early morning today.

Root cause analysis is already ongoing, however and as part of the investigation, unexpected downtime may still recur.

In the meantime, the team has also prepared other options in parallel, such as equipment replacement and fast-response protocols.
