Naging matagumpay ang grand launching ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples NCIP - National Action Center ngayong araw, June 22, 2026, sa pangunguna ni Secretary at Chairperson Nancy A. Catamco katuwang ni Project Manager Cresente Claver.
Ang programang ito ay layong tugunan ang mga hinaing at problemang kinahaharap ng ating Katutubong Pamayanan sa mas mabilis na paraan.
Layunin ng programang ito na agarang aksyunan ang bawat suliranin ng Indigenous Peoples sa pamamagitan ng mas maayos na sistema at koordinasyon sa pagitan ng ibaโt ibang ahensya, LGUs, at NCIP regional offices.

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) took part for the first time in the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly held in Samarkand. In various engagements, the delegation highlighted several NCIP initiatives which may be integrated as part of future GEF-9 implementation, such as the Ancestral Domains-Based Renewable Energy Systems (ADRES) Program as a community-driven renewable energy model within ancestral domains (SDG 7 and 13), the recognition of Indigenous Communities Conserved Areas (ICCAs) grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems for biodiversity conservation (SDG 15), and discussions on Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) emphasizing Indigenous stewardship in marine and ancestral waters governance (SDG 14).
Across these engagements, the NCIPโs policy and program directions underscored that Indigenous Peoples are not peripheral stakeholders in environmental governance, but active contributors to policy development, implementation, and long-term ecological stewardship.
