Police intercepted smuggled ci******es worth PHP146,000 at a checkpoint in Barangay Tagaran, Cauayan City, Isabela, on Saturday, June 20, authorities said.

Personnel of the Cauayan City Police Station stopped a tricycle carrying contraband, which was allegedly en route to the San Mariano public market.

BOTH SUSPECTS IN THE TACLOBAN CITY SCHOOL SHOOTING ARRESTED — PNP

Both suspects behind the shooting incident at a Tacloban City school on Monday have been arrested, the Police Regional Office Eastern Visayas (PRO8) said.

“As to the first culprit, our suspect here, right after the incident, we caught him in the school,” PRO8 Regional Director PBGen Jason Capoy told reporters in a phone interview.

PNP BOOSTS SCHOOL SAFETY MEASURES AFTER STABBING INCIDENTS IN CAVITE

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered an intensified police visibility in schools and sustained preventive patrols in and around school zones, especially during school opening, recess, and dismissal hours, following two separate stabbing incidents in Cavite on June 16 and June 19.

An 18-year-old student was wounded after allegedly being stabbed by a fellow Grade 11 schoolmate at the Cavite National High School, just days after a previous knife attack in another private school in the province.

PHP14M WORTH OF SUSPECTED DRUGS SEIZED, 3 NABBED IN OTON, ILOILO

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) scored big again in its anti-illegal drugs campaign with the confiscation of nearly PHP14 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Oton, Iloilo, early Sunday.

The operation, led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU6), in Brgy. Buray, Oton, resulted in the arrest of suspects identified as alias “Jude,” 32, of Brgy. San Juan, Molo; alias “Boss,” 26; and his brother, alias “Choco,” 28, both residents of Brgy. Calumpang, Molo, Iloilo City.
