SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna-June 18, 2026
Pacita Complex Senior High School (PCSHS) successfully participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held today at 9:00 a.m. as part of the government's continuing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness among learners and school personnel.
The activity aimed to prepare students, teachers, and other school personnel for possible earthquake emergencies by enhancing their knowledge of proper safety procedures and evacuation protocols.
During the drill, participants actively took part in the simulation and demonstrated discipline and cooperation by following the school's evacuation plan. Learners, teaching staff, and non-teaching personnel proceeded to their designated assembly areas based on the approved floor plan and assigned locations per section.
School officials emphasized the importance of regular earthquake drills in promoting awareness, preparedness, and resilience among members of the school community.
The activity also provided an opportunity to assess the effectiveness of the school's emergency response procedures and ensure that everyone is familiar with the appropriate actions to take during an actual earthquake.

As part of the opening of School Year 2026–2027, the Department of Education conducted the Literacy and Numeracy Knowledge Test (LiNK). Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners of Pacita Complex Senior High School (PCSHS) participated in the assessment from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The dedicated teaching force of PCSHS also took part in the successful administration of the said test, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening learners’ literacy and numeracy skills.
The LiNK Test measures learners’ competencies in literacy and numeracy. The literacy component assesses learners’ abilities in reading comprehension, vocabulary development, communication, and critical understanding of texts, while the numeracy component evaluates skills in mathematical operations, problem-solving, logical reasoning, and interpretation of numerical data.
Through these assessments, the Department of Education aims to determine learners’ level of mastery in the cognitive domain, particularly in understanding, application, analysis, and reasoning skills essential for academic success and lifelong learning.
PCSHS remains steadfast in supporting programs and initiatives that promote quality education and academic excellence for every learner.

Pacita Complex Senior High School (PCSHS) officially opened School Year 2026–2027 with a monitoring visit conducted by Sir Reginald Grafil, Math EPS. The visit focused on checking the school’s readiness for the opening of classes, including the preparation and completion of the necessary documents and school requirements.
The strong dedication and teamwork of the PCSHS teaching force were evident as all teachers were present and actively engaged during the school opening activities. Their commitment and preparedness reflect the school’s continuous effort to provide quality education and a positive learning environment for every learner.
As another school year begins, PCSHS remains committed to excellence, service, and ensuring a smooth and meaningful start for both teachers and students.
