AIR U OK? 🍃༄
An Air Quality Monitoring Series

ORMOC CITY AIR QUALITY | JUNE 8-14, 2026

Welcome to the sixth (6th) installment of the Air Quality Monitoring Series by the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region VIII! This weekly update provides a quick look at air quality conditions in Eastern Visayas based on the Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) located at Robinson's Place Marasbaras in Tacloban City and Robinson's Place Ormoc in Ormoc City.

For the period of June 8-14, 2026 in Ormoc City, monitoring results showed that air quality remained within the “Good” category throughout the week. This means the air was generally clean and safe for the public, with little to no health risk from air pollution.

Two types of particles commonly found in the air were monitored: PM10 (larger dust particles) and PM2.5 (very fine particles that can enter the lungs). Average concentrations recorded were 0.70 µg/Ncm for PM10 and 0.54 µg/Ncm for PM2.5 — both within acceptable levels.

Good air quality supports healthier communities, especially for children, older persons, and individuals with respiratory conditions. Simple actions such as avoiding open burning, reducing vehicle emissions, and planting trees can help keep our air clean.
