The City Muslim Affairs Office extends its warmest congratulations and heartfelt welcome to the newly qualified Arabic educators who successfully passed the Arabic Educators Examination.

On June 19, 2026, a courtesy meeting and welcoming activity was held in recognition of their achievement and commitment to advancing Arabic education within our communities. Present during the gathering were the President of the Tagum Association of Arabic Education Facilitators (TAArEF), together with the Head and Administrative personnel of the City Muslim Affairs Office, who conveyed their support and encouragement to the new educators as they embark on their noble responsibility of imparting knowledge and nurturing future generations.

May Allah (SWT) bless your journey as educators and grant you wisdom, sincerity, and success in serving the Muslim community through education.

On June 7, 2026, the Tagum Association of Arabic Education Facilitators (TAArEF) together with the City Muslim Affairs Office, successfully conducted its General Assembly & Testimonial Program, bringing together Arabic educators and facilitators from various Community-Based Madaris across Tagum City.

The assembly served as an important platform for discussing matters concerning the development of Arabic and Islamic education, updates on programs and activities, and strengthening collaboration among educators in advancing quality Madrasah instruction within the community.

A highlight of the gathering was the recognition and honoring of retired Arabic educators who dedicated many years of faithful service in nurturing generations of learners through Madrasah education. Their commitment, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions to the promotion of Islamic knowledge have left a lasting impact on the Muslim community of Tagum City.

The City Muslim Affairs Office (CMAO) wishes to inform the Muslim community and our ethnolinguistic tribes in Tagum City regarding the formal deferment of various upcoming festivals, activities, and programs.

This includes the annual conduct of the "Pakaradyan Festival".

This decision is in accordance with 'Executive Order No. 081, Series of 2026', issued by the Office of the City Mayor, following the declaration of a 'National Energy Emergency.

We seek the kind understanding and cooperation of all our constituents as we prioritize the national interest during this period. Rest assured, our office remains committed to coordinating with the City Tourism, Arts, Culture, and Heritage Management Office to provide further updates and guidance.

The City Muslim Affairs Office joins the session on the reading of Draft Resolution No. 658, Series of 2026, principally authored by Hon. Ciara Isabelle Uy-Salazar, concerning the grant of financial assistance to the bereaved family of the late Imam Faisal M. Contillo.

This proposed resolution signifies the recognition of the honorable service, dedication, and contribution of our late Imam to the Muslim community and the City. It also reflects the importance of extending compassion and support to the families of Muslim leaders who devoted their lives in serving the Ummah.

Through this initiative, the City Muslim Affairs Office also encourages all Imams, Asatidz, and Muslim community leaders to coordinate and maintain updated records with the office to ensure proper documentation of service and assistance programs that may be extended in times of need.

Indeed, Islam teaches us the value of honoring those who served the community with sincerity and faith.

May Allah (SWT) grant forgiveness, and mercy to the late Imam Faisal M. Contillo, and may He grant strength and patience to his bereaved family. Ameen.
