𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐡𝐨 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐨. 𝐓𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬

Every job application carries a story of hope, and on June 25, 2026, hundreds of those stories found a place to begin as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Sto. Tomas through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), successfully held the Trabaho Agad (Job Fair) at the Municipal Cultural Center.

The activity provided jobseekers, fresh graduates, and skilled workers with direct access to employers, opening doors to immediate employment and bringing opportunities closer to the people who need them most. For many applicants, the opportunity translated into instant success, as 38 jobseekers were hired on the spot turning their applications into employment on the very day of the job fair.

The initiative echoes the vision of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino, who continues to champion the Trabaho Agad program, emphasizing that securing a job is a pathway to true freedom and economic independence. By bringing employment opportunities and essential government services directly to communities, DOLE continues to make decent work more accessible to every Filipino.

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝: 𝟖𝟑 𝐉𝐨𝐛𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭/𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠

In line with the commitment of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to continuously strengthen the JobStart Philippines Program in preparing the youth for employment, 83 JobStarters successfully completed the 10-day Soft/Core Skills Training (SCST) during the culmination ceremony held at Robinsons Tagum on June 26, 2026.

Implemented in partnership with the City Public Employment Service and Career Development Office (CPESCDO) Tagum, the program produced 70 DOLE-funded and 13 LGU-funded Soft/Core Skills Training completers. During the ceremony, participants showcased their talents and shared how the training strengthened their confidence, communication, teamwork, and workplace readiness.

The JobStarters also received a ₱100 daily transportation allowance and a ₱510 daily training stipend, enabling them to actively participate throughout the training. As emphasized by Secretary Tolentino, the JobStart Philippines Program continues to prepare young Filipinos by equipping them with both essential workplace values and technical competencies needed to succeed in today's workforce.

During the ECOP Special Members’ General Meeting, Secretary Francis N. Tolentino called for a more visible and participatory approach to tripartism, stressing the importance of recognizing both the concerns of workers and the contributions of employers in nation-building.

𝐏𝐡𝐩 𝟓𝟑𝟎𝐊 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝟓𝟑 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬

Hindi matatawaran ang halaga ng pagkakataong muling makapagsimula. Noong Hunyo 25, 2026, limampu't tatlong (53) ambulant vendors at self-employed workers sa Davao del Norte ang tumanggap ng Individual Livelihood Starter Kits na nagkakahalaga ng ₱10,000 bawat benepisyaryo, o kabuuang ₱530,000, sa ilalim ng DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

Sa pangunguna ni Provincial Director Sonia M. Delfin, isinagawa ang awarding bilang bahagi ng patuloy na paghahatid ng DOLE ng mga programang tumutulong sa mga manggagawang higit na nangangailangan. Alinsunod din ito sa direksyon ni DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino na higit pang palakasin ang paghahatid ng mga programa at serbisyo ng Kagawaran.

Sa bawat "Daghang Salamat, DOLE!" mula sa mga benepisyaryo, naipakita na ang bawat starter kit ay hindi lamang puhunan sa kabuhayan, kundi pagkakataon para sa mas matatag na kinabukasan ng kanilang pamilya.

Bilang pakikiisa sa selebrasyon ng Araw ng Davao del Norte - Kadagayaan Festival, inihahandog ngayong JULY 3, 2026 ang 𝘼𝙧𝙖𝙬 𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙚 - 𝙆𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙚𝙜𝙖 𝙅𝙤𝙗 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙧 katuwang ang DavNor PESO at NCCC Mall Tagum.

Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni Secretary Tolentino na patuloy na isinusulong ng kagawaran ang programang JobStart upang mas ihanda ang kabataan—hindi lamang sa mga teknikal na kasanayan, kundi pati na rin sa kakayahang makipagkapwa na lubhang mahalaga sa mundo ng pagtatrabaho.

Sa pagtatapos ng mga JobStarters sa kanilang Soft/Core Skills Training inaasahan ng DOLE at ng Lungsod ng Tagum katuwang ang PEESO Tagum City na mas lalong magiging maliwanag ang kanilang landas tungo sa isang matatag at disenteng hanapbuhay!

DOLE Davao del Norte continued its livelihood assessment initiatives on June 23, 2026 through the conduct of Livelihood Profiling for parents of child laborers at LGU Sawata.

The activity gathered essential information that will help determine appropriate interventions and livelihood opportunities tailored to the needs of the beneficiaries and their families, supporting efforts to reduce child labor through sustainable sources of income.

This effort supports the vision of Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentino of strengthening employment facilitation and livelihood programs that empower vulnerable workers and communities toward sustainable livelihoods.
