Foot & Mouth Disease has cost Punjab's farmers billions. P4A and the Livestock & Dairy Development Department are ending that.

To strengthen disease control and support sustainable livestock development, the Livestock & Dairy Development Department is implementing the Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccination Plant under Public Private Partnership mode. With this plant, Pakistan will become the 8th country in the world to produce this vaccine locally.

Mr. Shakeel Ahmad Mian, Secretary Local Government and Community Development Department, Government of Punjab, reflects on a landmark step forward for basic services in Punjab.
Under P4A, the Local Government Department is outsourcing water and sanitation services in Kasur and Chakwal through the Public-Private Partnership mode. In Kasur, tannery contamination has rendered water unsafe for years. In Chakwal, clean water has simply been inaccessible. Through PPPs, the private sector will now invest alongside the public sector to deliver these essential services to citizens.
Work on Waste-to-Value projects converting solid waste into usable resources and jobs is also underway under the PPP framework.
