*IMPORTANT INFORMATION*📣
In observance of Juneteenth, all MWR facilities will be closed on Friday, June 19, except for the following:
• Fitness Center (Bldg. 167): 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Outdoor Gym & Roberto Clemente Annex: Open 24/7 for authorized ID cardholders
• Golf Course: 6 a.m. – Dusk
Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19, commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued. The day marks a significant milestone in American history and symbolizes freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.
Juneteenth serves as a time to reflect on our nation’s history, honor the contributions and achievements of African Americans, and celebrate the values of liberty and opportunity for all.

Arriving this summer? Your student doesn’t have to navigate a new school alone.
Youth Sponsorship programs connect incoming students with trained peer leaders who help them feel welcomed, informed, and confident from day one. These Youth Sponsors know the school, understand military life, and are ready to support newcomers through schedules, clubs, and campus culture.
Ask your School Liaison Officer about Youth Sponsors at your new school and how your child can get connected or even become a sponsor themselves to support others.

PCS moves don’t have to disrupt your child’s education.
Your School Liaison Officer is your go-to partner for school transitions, student records, registration requirements, and understanding local education policies at your next duty station. Whether you’re weeks away from a move or just starting to plan, your SLO can help your student land smoothly and confidently.
Reach out to your School Liaison before you PCS. We’re here to support your family every step of the way.
