Earlier this week, the Singapore Consulate-General team attended a film screening event organised by the Philippines Consulate-General in Jeddah. The movie - Song of the Fireflies (2025) - was an inspiring movie that followed the journey of the Loboc Children's Choir in sharing their musical talent to the world and bringing pride and honour to the Philippines. The movie has won the Best Asian Feature and the Mayor's Choice Award at the Chandler International Film Festival in Arizona, USA. Thank you for the invitation!

Haj begins in about three days. We pray that all our pilgrims are in the best of health and spirit to begin their sacred journey.
Earlier this week, Consul General Chandra Kumar accompanied Acting Minister (Muslim Affairs) Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim to engage Singapore pilgrims and inspect Masyair sites before the Haj rituals begin.
We are heartened to note that everything is in order for a smooth experience. As our pilgrims embark on this once-in-a-lifetime act of devotion, we hope that each of them is blessed with safety, comfort, ease, and a deeply meaningful Haj experience this year.

2027 will be a bang for us! In January, our Lions will be making history, competing at the Asian Football Cup tournament for the first time in 43 years. Singapore’s only other appearance at the competition was in 1984 which we hosted in Singapore. Last week, the draw to determine Singapore’s grouping took place in Riyadh. Singapore is in Group D alongside with Australia, Tajikistan, and Iraq.
