Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition

IMCTC launches in Moroni, the capital of the Union of the Comoros, a five-day Rehabilitation and Reintegration Program for Radicalized Individuals with Extremist Terrorist Behavior (Reintegration) with the participation of thirty professionals specializing in rehabilitation and reintegration, as well as several officials from relevant authorities in the Union of the Comoros. The program is part of IMCTC’s ongoing efforts to build the national capacities of member states in preventing extremism and enhancing the rehabilitation and reintegration programs.

The impact of hate speech is not limited to harming individuals but also extends to threatening social cohesion, through sowing divisions, unrest and reinforcing extremist ideologies, thus negatively undermining security, stability, and development.

Ambassador Nodirjon Turgonov of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visited IMCTC HQ and was briefed on IMCTC’s efforts, programs, and capacity building initiatives and supporting member states’ efforts in addressing the challenges associated with terrorism and extremism.

IMCTC received today at its HQ, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Maj. Gen. Ibrahima Dahirou DEMBELE, and the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, both sides explored IMCTC’s efforts, programs, and strategic initiatives aimed at supporting member states and building their capacities across counterterrorism domains, as well as areas of further cooperation with the Republic of Mali to enhance regional security and stability.

IMCTC organized today at its HQ a scholarly lecture titled “Terrorism Throughout History, delivered by Dr. Farhat Horchani, advisor to IMCTC, in the presence of IMCTC Secretary-General, delegates of member states, and IMCTC personnel. During the lecture, advisor Horchani gave a historical overview of the roots of the phenomenon of terrorism across various eras, civilizations and covered several historical models that experienced terrorist acts prior to the advent of Islam and in different regions of the world, going through multiple historical stages up to the modern era.

IMCTC represents a model for international cooperation, as its partnerships with Member States contribute to strengthening regional security and international peace.

IMCTC received today at its headquarters Mr. Takashi Hayasaka, Second Secretary of Political Section at the Embassy of Japan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the visit, Mr. Hayasaka was briefed on IMCTC’s mission and its strategic objectives aimed at enhancing coordination and integration among its member states, in addition to its key activities, initiatives, and specialized programs across counterterrorism domains.
