Not the result Australia had hoped for, with the Socceroos recording a 0–2 loss to the United States in their second World Cup group-stage match. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ₯Ίβš½

Now best of luck for their final group-stage match against Paraguay. ✊🏻

Repost Smartraveller:

We now advise 'Reconsider your need to travel' to Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (level 3) overall.

The security environment in the Middle East remains unpredictable. Australians should avoid non-essential travel to these locations. If you need to transit, stay as short a time as possible and eliminate unnecessary activities.

If you're in already in these locations, remain vigilant and follow local advice. The situation may change at short notice and advice levels may be raised if security conditions deteriorate.

There is no level change for other Middle East locations. Do not travel advice for Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Yemen remains in place. We continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Repost Smartraveller:

10 June: The situation in the Middle East region remains volatile. Military strikes and reprisal attacks have occurred in a number of locations in the Middle East since 28 February, including recently.

There remains a risk of further attacks and escalation. If strikes occur in your location, prioritise your safety, monitor events and follow local advice, including any shelter in place instructions.

We continue to advise Australians do not travel to Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. We continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

8 June: Military strikes and reprisal attacks have occurred in a number of locations in the Middle East.

There's a risk of further attacks or escalation across the region. If strikes occur in your location, prioritise your safety, monitor events and follow local advice, including any shelter in place instructions.

There's some airspace closures and flight disruptions occurring in the region. This may also cause flow-on delays and cancellations. Contact your airline or travel provider to confirm flights.

We continue to advise Australians do not travel to Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Do not travel advice includes transits and layovers.

If you need emergency consular assistance, contact the Australian Government's 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre: +61 2 6261 3305 (from overseas or 1300 555 135 (in Australia).
