From 15 to 19 June 2026, CAAS joined over 500 aviation leaders, regulators, and industry stakeholders at the inaugural African Air Transport Convention & Expo 2026 in Lomé, Togo. ✈️ The convention was hosted by the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) in collaboration with the African Union Commission.
At the panel on "Innovation, Technology and Human Capital for Africa's Air Transport Future", CAAS Chief Technology Officer, Mr Tan Kah Han, shared how Singapore harnesses technology and innovation to unlock capacity, overcome resource constraints and co-create value with local and international partners to enhance safety, security and the passenger experience globally.
The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) showcased its suite of training programmes at the Expo – including airport management and aviation safety courses – to aviation professionals and institutions across the continent.
CAAS and SAA are honoured to contribute to these vital conversations and support global capacity-building. We look forward to continued collaboration and partnerships as we develop a skilled, future-ready aviation workforce, supporting a more accessible, connected and sustainable global aviation community for all. 🌍

CAAS will be establishing TRAs over parts of Singapore on selected days in June, July and August 2026 to ensure the safety of the public and aircraft that will be flying at low level as part of the aerial activities for National Day Parade 2026 and its rehearsals.
During the stated dates and times, the conduct of all aerial activities including kite-flying, hoisting of captive balloons, release of free flight aerial objects and flying of unmanned aircraft such as drones into and within the TRAs, is strictly prohibited, unless expressively permitted by CAAS through a permit. Achieving ICAO - International Civil Aviation Organization's long-term global aspirational goal for international aviation of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 requires strong, pragmatic collaboration across governments, industry and international organisations to advance sustainable aviation.
CAAS was honoured to participate in the ICAO Aviation Climate Week in Montreal from 2 to 4 June 2026, where our representatives took part in rich discussions and shared Singapore’s regional perspectives and policy approaches on sustainable aviation. Permanent Representative of Singapore on the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization, Ms Eileen Poh, moderated a panel on scaling up sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production through strong demand policies and robust accounting frameworks underpinned by ICAO’s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA). CAAS Director (Sustainability Office), Mr Christopher Tan, also spoke on Singapore’s sustainable development strategies and underscored the role of CORSIA as a key global framework in supporting the transition to cleaner energy.
CAAS remains committed to supporting ICAO’s mission and advancing collective action across environmental priorities, towards a more sustainable future for global aviation. ✈️🌱
