Music Club met up for Bollywood Jamming, to pay tribute to legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. The event was filled with music, nostalgia, laughter, and a lot of fun, with everyone singing their hearts out. The energy, participation, and love for timeless songs made the event unforgettable!

IWA volunteers assisted the seniors of Sree Narayana Mission (SNM), wheeling them to a shopping centre and helping them buy groceries. It was heartwarming to see the excitement of the seniors after buying the treats. Later, the volunteers assisted in bringing them back to SNM Nursing Home. It was a very fulfilling experience for everyone involved.

IWA was invited to a truly memorable evening at the Singapore Indian Association, celebrating the 165th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The evening was filled with cultural spirit, wonderful dance performances, and soulful renditions of some of Rabindranath Tagore’s most cherished songs.

IWA Movie Club screened two local productions, Love, Yours Truly and Lifaafe, followed by an engaging discussion. Members reflected on themes of emotional neglect, loneliness, companionship, and the importance of women being heard, valued, and supported in finding happiness and fulfilment.

Book Club reviewed Min Jin Lee’s novel Pachinko. While many readers praised its emotional depth, historical backdrop and multigenerational storytelling, others felt its themes of migration, identity and struggle reflected a universal global experience and therefore did not feel entirely unique.
The discussion moved effortlessly across cultures, countries and generations, while always returning to the heart of the story in Osaka. A beautiful morning filled with thoughtful conversation, laughter, and warm companionship.
