UNESCO's Global Skills Academy Training and skills development opportunities for employability

Caribbean youth told UNESCO that breaking the cycle of violence requires honest conversations across generations that acknowledge mental health and trauma, challenge stigma, and create pathways to healing together.

UNESCO is pleased to invite you to join our upcoming panel discussion, Caribbean Resilience: Addressing Community Violence and Mental Health Together taking place on 10 December 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 am (Jamaica Time). This event is being held in recognition of Human Rights Day and builds on UNESCO’s upcoming report on the impact of community violence on mental health.

The session will bring together youth, community leaders, mental health practitioners, and policymakers for an intergenerational conversation on how violence and mental well-being intersect in the Caribbean, and what we can do together to create safer and more supportive environments.
