How can clean energy create opportunities for everyone?
Across , the energy transition is creating new opportunities, from renewable power and grid modernization to electric mobility and energy efficiency.
But technology alone will not deliver an inclusive transition.
Workers, young people, women, older persons and people in rural communities need access to skills, training and support to take part in the clean energy future.
By investing in reskilling, certification and inclusive labour policies, countries can accelerate climate action while creating more decent jobs across the region.
ESCAP works with partners to support a people-centred energy transition that leaves no one behind.

Paperless is a policy choice with real impact.
At Week 2026, governments, innovators and trade experts explored how digitalization tools can make trade faster, greener and more reliable across Asia and the Pacific.
Over five days, discussions focused on practical next steps:
🔹 build trust in digital trade systems
🔹 help countries’ systems work better together
🔹 replace paper documents with secure digital ones
🔹 make trade processes cleaner and more efficient
🔹 use AI carefully to reduce delays and paperwork
The takeaway: technology alone will not transform trade.
It needs clear policies, trusted systems and regional cooperation so that digital trade works better for businesses, communities and economies across Asia and the Pacific.
ESCAP will continue supporting Member States to build paperless trade systems that are practical, inclusive and connected.

To accelerate progress, action is needed to:
🛡️ invest in social protection for vulnerable households
🧒 strengthen child protection systems
📚 expand access to quality education, especially in rural and crisis-affected areas
💼 ensure decent work for adults and youth
⚖️ enforce laws and business accountability across supply chains
Raise the red card to child labour, and help turn commitments into real change for children, families and communities.
