Friends of the Library was founded in 1979 by the Matron's Club. This membership drive has continued to be held during National Library Week in April.
The first "Friends" tea was held April 1, 1979, to welcome the new Friends of the Library Board and to ask the public to become a "Friend" by paying membership dues.
Next week is National Library week! It's time to renew your Friends of the Library membership for 2016-2017. Your membership allows you to help the children in our community have summer reading as well as library programs throughout the year. Your membership dues helps pay for things the library budget doesn't cover like extra books, posters, children's activities, recognition of our librarians on holidays, book signings, and more. Please renew to help keep our library the remarkable community treasure that we have all come to love and appreciate. $20/single membership; $30/family; $50 business and clubs; $100/benefactor; $300/corporate.

Don't forget the Friends of the Library book sale Monday, April 15 - 10:00 - 4:00. Then our open house Tuesday, April 16. Come for refreshments, to honor Alex Clark for his service on the library board, to renew your membership to the Friends of the Library - or to join! We welcome all to enjoy our wonderful local public library!
The Abbeville Friends of the Library begins its 2013-2014 annual membership drive this week! Join the Friends to help promote children's activities in our library. Please join us for our annual used book sale Monday, April 15, and our annual library celebration, this year honoring Alex Clark, long time board member who retired this year. Come by the library and renew your membership and receive your card with lots of goodies from local merchants as well as the library.

You are invited to the Friends of the Library Tea Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 2:00 - 4:00. Come hear the Calvary Kids ring bells and meet the book mark winners foro 2012. Refreshments and good friends of the library will be waiting for you!
Come to the library to participate in the Alabama vs Auburn piggy bank contest! All proceeds to book purchases!
