On Tuesday evening, some of our members along with Monterey (Sta 9), took the opportunity to train on extrication. We were able to practice with all of our extrication equipment as well as, discuss and practice different approaches and tactics. A huge thanks to Abbeville County Department of Public Works, for helping us with the setup of this training!

It's not worth the risk. Please be safe and make good decisions.
⚠️ TURN AROUND. DON’T DROWN. ⚠️
Floodwaters are one of the most dangerous weather hazards we face in South Carolina - and they can become deadly in seconds.
Just 6 inches of fast-moving water can knock a person down, and only 12 inches can carry away most vehicles. Nearly half of all flood-related deaths occur in vehicles because drivers attempt to cross flooded roads.
If you encounter standing water on a roadway:
🚫 DO NOT drive through it
🚫 DO NOT go around barricades
🚫 DO NOT risk your life to save a few minutes
Turn around and find another route. No destination is worth your life.
Abbeville County Fire-Rescue urges everyone to stay weather aware, use caution during heavy rain events, and remember:
WHEN FLOODED, FORGET IT.
