HAPPY EMS WEEK! đźš‘
This week, we proudly recognize the dedicated men and women of Central Fire & EMS District who answer the call day or night, rain or shine, holidays, weekends, and everything in between.
Our EMS providers are often there on someone’s worst day, bringing calm to chaos, comfort during uncertainty, and lifesaving care when every second counts. From medical emergencies and motor vehicle accidents to community events and public education, their commitment to serving our rural communities never goes unnoticed.
These individuals sacrifice time with their families, miss holidays, lose sleep, and continuously train to provide the highest level of care to those who need it most.
To our EMTs, AEMTs, Paramedics, and support staff thank you for your compassion, dedication, and selfless service. Your impact reaches far beyond the back of an ambulance, and our communities are stronger because of you. THANK YOU!

Yesterday we had some special visitors from the local library stop by for a fire hall tour!
Battalion Chief John Austin, FF Sean, and EMT Shyanne had the opportunity to show our guests around the station, give them a closer look at our fire trucks and ambulance, and share what a day in the life of first responders looks like.
We love opening our doors to our community and helping kids learn more about fire safety, EMS, and the people who serve them every day.

Today, Central Fire & EMS District participated in a mock accident scenario with the Colby Senior High class designed to show the very real consequences of driving under the influence.
Students witnessed a powerful, real-life simulation from the initial crash response involving first responders, to law enforcement making an arrest, the involvement of a funeral home, and the heartbreaking moment of notifying a family that their loved one is no longer here. These are moments no family should ever have to experience.
With graduation right around the corner, celebrations should be filled with memories not tragedy. One decision can change lives forever. We encourage all students to make smart choices, plan ahead, and never get behind the wheel impaired. Call for a ride, use a designated driver, and look out for one another.
Your future is bright protect it. Stay safe, make responsible choices, and enjoy celebrating this important milestone. Colby-Abbotsford Police Department Aspirus MedEvac Maurina Schilling Funeral Homes
