Dave Reichert is absolutely the only candidate in the Republican primary who can win. Yes, he is far from being a staunchly conservative Republican. However, he would be the most viable Republican candidate since 2012, when Rob McKenna came within 3.1 points of defeating Jay Inslee, while carrying Clallam and Pierce counties. If you nominate Semi Bird, Bob Ferguson will be comfortably elected Governor with margins similar to Inslee in 2020. So, the choices are either a compromise Republican or a Democrat.

Following Wednesday’s ballot count, Doug Orr maintains an 8 vote lead over Aberdeen city councilwoman Debi Ann Pieraccini to be Aberdeen’s next Mayor. According to the Grays Harbor County Auditor’s office, Orr has received 1,356 votes to Pieraccini’s 1,348. Four ballots are left to be counted across Grays Harbor County, however there are 32 ballots from Aberdeen alone that did not have a proper signature on them, that were not counted. These voters will have an opportunity to fix the signature error and have their vote counted, so as of this hour, Pieraccini still has a sliver of hope to pull this out, but Doug Orr is the favorite to be elected Mayor of Aberdeen.
