In observation of Election Day, the Abingdon Redevelopment and Housing Authority will be closed on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025. We will resume normal business hours on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025.

Our office will be closed on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, for an off-site training. We will also be closed on Monday, October 13th, 2025, in observance of Columbus Day. We will return on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, at 8:30 AM.

Just a reminder we have these two great opportunities available today. If interested please check them out. They will be located in the parking lot at 302 B Street, Abingdon, VA from 9:30AM until 2:30PM.

The Abingdon Redevelopment and Housing Authority will be closed on Thursday, June 19th 2025 in observation of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Monday June 23rd, 2025 at 8:30 AM.

ARHA has partnered with Humana to bring a free Farmer’s Market to our tenants. There are no obligations to participate in this. This program is for both our Public Housing Tenants and our Housing Choice Voucher Program tenants. Any families that show up on June 25th between 9:30AM and 2PM (or until supplies runout) will be able to receive a bag of free fruits and vegetables. This will be located in the parking lot of our Public Housing Units on B street. If you have any questions in regard to this please feel free to contact our office.

Abingdon Housing has partnered with The Virginia Department of Health and Highlands Community Service to bring Integrative Health Services to our tenants and the surrounding area. We know that sometimes transportation is an issue when it comes to getting certain care. This will be a mobile unit available to not only our tenants but anyone locally who would like to utilize these services. There is a list of services that will be provided on the attached flyer. The unit will be located at our apartments on B Street on June 25th. They will be available at this location from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Please utilize these services and let others in the area know they are welcome as well. If you have any questions in regards to this please feel free to ask.

Our office will be closed on Monday, February 17th in observation of President’s Day. We will reopen at 8:30AM on Tuesday, February 18th. If you need an application for our waiting list during this time, you can pick one up outside of our office to the right of the door and return it to the box located on the left of the door.

We are now taking applications for the HCV Section 8 and Public Housing Waiting lists. Applications are located outside our office door and can be picked up at anytime. Applications must be picked up and dropped back off at our office. We are no longer accepting any online applications at this time. For your convenience we have a black drop box to the left of our door where paperwork can be dropped off at any time.
