☀️ Day 3 of VA Rules Youth Camp was a great one! 🚔🌳

Today, our campers enjoyed First Responders Day, where they learned more about the men and women who serve and protect our community every day. They also spent time enjoying the outdoors at Washington County Park, taking advantage of the beautiful weather we’ve been blessed with this week.

From hands-on activities to valuable lessons and lots of fun, our campers continue to make memories and build skills that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 💙

☀️ VA Rules Youth Camp - Day 2! ☀️

Our campers started the day with important lessons and engaging discussions, building skills that will help them make positive choices for the future. After a great morning of learning, they headed to Wytheville for an exciting afternoon of fun and adventure at the Discovery Zone! 🎉

We’re proud of these young leaders and can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!

⛳️ We are proud to help spread the word about this great event honoring the memory of Deputy Logan Utt while supporting our law enforcement officers and first responders.

The Captain’s Choice Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Blue Ridge Country Club. First responders play free, and there will be cash prizes, a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, lunch, and a great day of golf for an even greater cause.

We encourage everyone to come out, play, sponsor, or support this special event. 🇺🇸🚔🚒

🇺🇸 Office Closure Notice – Juneteenth 🇺🇸

The Administrative Offices of the Washington County Sheriff's Office will be closed on Friday, June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors freedom, history, and progress.

Our offices will resume normal business hours on the next business day. As always, emergency services will remain available by dialing 911.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday as we reflect on the significance of this important day.

🚴‍♂️🍦 Our Youth Impact (VA Rules) Camp is off to a great start!

Today, campers enjoyed a bike ride on the trail and finished with an ice cream treat. Along with the fun activities, campers are participating in daily lessons and discussions focused on making positive choices and building life skills.

Congratulations to the Abingdon High School Softball Team on winning the VHSL State Championship!

Your hard work, determination, and teamwork have made our community proud. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office congratulates the players, coaches, and supporters on this incredible accomplishment.

The Abingdon Lady Falcons are VHSL Class 3 State Champions! 🏆

🏆Abingdon capped off a PERFECT season with a 7-3 victory over Broadway to claim ANOTHER STATE TITLE!

🥎The Falcons wasted no time offensively as Kendyll Cole drove in a run with a first-inning double before B. King delivered a two-run single to give Abingdon an early advantage. Scout Summitt added an RBI sacrifice fly, while King finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs in the championship win.

💙In the circle, Ada Gillenwater went the distance, allowing just three runs over seven innings to secure the victory.

Lauren Baker, Cole, and King each collected two hits as the Lady Falcons brought the state championship trophy back to Southwest Virginia! 🏆🏆🏆

🏆⚾ Congratulations to the Patrick Henry High School Baseball Team on winning the State Championship! ⚾🏆

Your hard work, dedication, and teamwork have made your school and community proud. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and supporters on an incredible season and a well-deserved title!

🩵 The Patrick Henry Rebels are VHSL Class 1 State Champions! 🏆

Patrick Henry, representing Glade Spring, defeated Rappahannock 4-1 at Kiwanis Park to capture the program’s state title! 🩵

Aidan Monahan led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two singles. Hank Rutherford delivered the go-ahead hit in the fifth inning with a two-run double, while Hunter White added an RBI! 💨

Kolby Hicks earned the win on the mound, allowing just one unearned run over 6.1 innings while striking out five! ⚾️

The Rebels collected 11 hits, turned a double play, and finished their championship run on top of Class 1 baseball in Virginia! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
