Even shallow floodwaters can be dangerous and may conceal washed-out roadways, debris, or other hazards.

Please use caution, stay alert, and help keep our first responders and public works crews safe as they continue their work throughout the community.

Memorial Day

Today, the Town of Abita Springs remembers the heroes who never made it home.

While many spend this day surrounded by family, laughter, and the start of summer, we pause to remember the empty chairs at dinner tables across America… the folded flags carefully held by grieving families… and the loved ones who carry a loss that never truly fades.

Memorial Day is more than a holiday. It is a promise — that the lives of our fallen service members will never be forgotten, and that their sacrifice will continue to live on in the freedoms we enjoy every single day.

To the mothers, fathers, spouses, children, siblings, and friends of those we have lost: this town stands with you today. We honor not only the brave men and women who gave everything for our country, but also the families who continue to carry their memory with incredible strength and grace.

May we never take for granted the cost of the freedom we share.

We know many families look forward to the splash pad opening each year around Memorial Day weekend. Due to ongoing infrastructure updates and improvements currently in progress, the splash pad will remain closed until further notice.
