We’ve come a long way since our fur trading post days in the late 18th century. Now, Ada Village is a thriving community nestled between the Thornapple River and Grand River – and the perfect place to visit or call home. Don't forget! It's almost time for Ada Township's 4th of July Festivities as we're just two weeks away from the Holiday. Each year we have the children's bike parade that kicks things off before the main parade starts. 🚲

Join our Parks & Recreation team at Ada Park on Thursday, July 2nd anytime from 10a-12p to come decorate your set of wheels in the best red, white, and blue themes you can come up with!

Notice: The Thornapple River Pedestrian Bridge installation went faster than expected and Thornapple River Drive is now open to traffic!

🚧 Thornapple River Drive Bridge Closure – Construction Schedule & Viewing Information 🚧

As a reminder, the Thornapple River Drive Bridge will be closed beginning Friday, June 19 at 6:00 PM while crews install the new bridge structure.

For those interested in watching this unique construction process, the best viewing opportunity will be Saturday, June 20 between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM, when the bridge sections are lifted and set into place.

Construction Schedule

Friday, June 19
πŸ•• 6:00 PM – Bridge closed and detour activated
🚚 7:00 PM – Five trucks arrive and begin unloading materials
πŸ”§ 8:00 PM until completion (approximately 4 hours) – Assembly of the 170-foot bridge section

Saturday, June 20
πŸ—οΈ 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM – Set 170-foot bridge section
πŸ—οΈ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Set 50-foot bridge sections
🚜 12:00 PM – Crane teardown and demobilization begins
πŸš— 3:00 PM – Bridge reopens and detour is removed

We appreciate everyone's patience during this important infrastructure improvement project and look forward to reopening the bridge as quickly as possible.

Please remember to observe all safety barriers and follow directions from construction personnel if you choose to watch the bridge installation.

His goal is to ensure that Ada Parks & Recreation remains approachable, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of our residents. When you see Wesley around town, don't hesitate to say hello!

Meet Ethan, Recreation Program Coordinator for Ada Parks & Recreation!

That belief is at the heart of Ethan’s work with Ada Parks & Recreation. Whether he's helping coordinate volunteer stewardship days, supporting environmental initiatives, organizing recreational programs like the summer softball league, or planning community favorites such as the Community Campout and Daddy Daughter Dance, Ethan is passionate about creating opportunities for people to get outside and connect.
