Behind every siren is a team showing up on someone’s worst day with courage, compassion, and care.
This EMS Appreciation Week, we want to thank the paramedics and EMTs who answer the call day and night. Your dedication never goes unnoticed! We are so proud to work beside you.🚑❤️

Today, we honor the incredible moms who answer the call both at work and at home.

To the mothers serving in dispatch, law enforcement, fire, EMS, corrections, and every first responder role; thank you for the strength, compassion, and sacrifices you make every single day. Whether you’re calming chaos over the radio, working long shifts away from your family, or showing up for others when they need it most, your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Behind every headset, badge, uniform, and radio is a mother giving her all.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing first responder moms. 💐🚔🎙️

This National Police Week is about the ones who wear the badge and carry everything that comes with it.

The long shifts. The unknown calls. The split-second decisions that don’t come with second chances.

In Pontotoc County, our officers don’t just respond; they take responsibility for every situation they step into. They face what others won’t, stand firm when it matters most, and do the job even when it’s hard, heavy, and unforgiving.

This isn’t just a career. It’s a commitment to this community, to each other, and to getting the job done no matter what it takes.

From dispatch, we’re proud to stand behind you and support you every step of the way.

Pontotoc County stands with its officers—today and every day.

Stay safe. 💙

Before the lights.
Before the sirens.
Before help ever arrives, someone answers the call.

Dispatcher Spotlight:

“I really appreciate the flow of the workplace. When things get tough and people get rowdy in the county, our tasks start to meld together and we help each other get everything done. Everyone steps in to pick up slack, which helps us help more people, faster. I also appreciate the times I’ve been able to calm a caller down and get them the help they needed.”
— Dispatcher KT

During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we recognize the professionals who serve as the first responder to your call, no matter what it may be.

Dispatchers work as a team in fast-paced, unpredictable environments—supporting one another while ensuring every call is handled with care, urgency, and professionalism.

Their ability to adapt, communicate, and stay calm under pressure makes a difference in every call they take.

🥚 Eggs are being hidden
🍫 Chocolate is being consumed at unsafe speeds
🐰 And someone, somewhere, is absolutely reporting a suspicious rabbit.

Friendly holiday reminders:
• The Easter Bunny is authorized to be in your yard.
• Children running through neighborhoods are likely participating in egg hunts.
• Finding eggs weeks later is normal and not evidence of criminal activity.
• Pets eating chocolate may require a vet — not a police report.

As you celebrate today, please drive carefully, watch for families out enjoying the weather, and double-check before calling in a “large animal sighting.”

Dispatch will be here all day answering calls, coordinating responders, and resisting the urge to take evidence from unattended candy baskets.

Have a safe, happy, and egg-cellent Easter! 🐰🥚🚨

Due to the high number of “emergencies” reported every April Fools’ Day, Dispatch would like to remind everyone that:

• Your friend putting googly eyes on your car is not a police matter
• Your coworker switching the sugar and salt is not a fire department issue
• Someone taping your mouse sensor at work is not a medical emergency

While we appreciate a good prank as much as anyone… calling 911 as a prank is NOT a joke.

Misusing 911 can lead to criminal charges, fines, and tying up resources that someone else may desperately need.

So prank your friends, prank your coworkers…
Just don’t prank 911.

Happy April Fools from your Dispatchers ☎️🚓🚑🚒
