It’s a wet start to the day, Addison. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Dallas County until 10:45 a.m.

Please use extra caution on the roads, especially near underpasses, low-lying areas, creeks, and drainage channels. Water can rise quickly, and roads that appear passable may be deeper than they look.

⚠️ Never drive around barricades.
⚠️ Turn around, don’t drown.
⚠️ Slow down and allow extra stopping distance.
⚠️ Watch for standing water and reduced visibility.

If you don’t need to be on the road, consider delaying travel until conditions improve. Stay weather aware and monitor local forecasts for updates.

The Town of Addison is seeking feedback on proposed tree well treatments for the Addison Circle District. Tree wells are the areas surrounding street trees along sidewalks and pedestrian spaces. As tree roots mature and pedestrian activity increases, maintaining these spaces has become more challenging and costly.

The survey presents six design options ranging from landscaped treatments to low-maintenance hardscape solutions. Community input will help guide future improvements and ensure the selected approach reflects the priorities of residents, visitors, and businesses who enjoy Addison Circle.

The Londoner Addison is celebrating 30 years of bringing the charm and camaraderie of a traditional English pub to North Texas. Since opening in 1995, the Addison landmark has become a gathering place for soccer fans, British expats, and locals alike, earning recognition from NBC Sports Group as the “Best English Premier League Bar in America.”

Owner Rosemarie Tate says nearly everyone in Addison has a story connected to The Londoner, whether it's sharing fish and chips with friends, enjoying a pint of Fuller’s London Pride, or gathering to cheer on a favorite fútbol club during an early morning match. As excitement builds for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, The Londoner is preparing for larger crowds with an expanded patio, additional televisions, and special promotions.

Mayor Bruce Arfsten, Mayor Pro Tempore Chris DeFrancesco, Council Member Marlin Willesen, Economic Development Manager David Chavez, and Development Relations Project Manager Charles Mazarakes joined the celebration to recognize The Londoner's contributions to the Addison community. Congratulations to The Londoner on 30 years of serving Addison and creating memories that have become part of the Town's story.

Coffee with a Cop was a great success, bringing together residents, business owners, and visitors for meaningful conversations with Addison's first responders. The event provided a welcoming environment for community members to ask questions, share feedback, and build relationships with the officers who serve Addison every day.

Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Darren Gardner and City Manager David Gaines attended the event, joining attendees in conversation and supporting community engagement efforts. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the event a positive opportunity to strengthen connections throughout our community.

During a June 9 City Council Work Session, Chief of Staff Sarah Kuechler gave the City Council an update on usage of the Addison FixIT app, which continues to serve as an important customer service tool for reporting issues and requesting Town services. Since its launch, the app has been downloaded more than 1,500 times and has more than 1,100 registered users. The Town receives an average of just over five requests per day through the platform, with parks-related issues, code enforcement concerns, and trash and recycling requests accounting for the largest share of submissions.

Staff also reported that requests are trending slightly higher than last year while average response and resolution times have improved.

The app is available for both iPhones and Androids (FixIT is one word) and allows you to either take or upload a photo and mark an exact location on a map. You don't have to log in to use the app; just open it and submit a request. You can also find an online version on the Town's website.

The Addison Police Department has recently received several reports from East Addison residents regarding random gunfire originating from the White Rock Creek area and/or from across the creek within the City of Dallas.

The safety and well-being of our residents remain a top priority. The Addison Police Department has a zero-tolerance approach to unlawful firearm activity that threatens public safety. In response to these concerns, the Addison Police Department has increased patrols in the area and is actively collaborating with the Dallas Police Department to identify the source of these incidents and address the problem.

Residents are encouraged to immediately report any suspected gunfire or related suspicious activity to both the Dallas and Addison Police Departments. Timely reporting provides law enforcement with valuable information to identify patterns, direct resources, and support enforcement efforts.

When reporting to Dallas, you may wish to reference the 5800 block of Belt Line Rd and then give details about where you think the gunfire is coming from.

At its June 9 meeting, the City Council approved a Special Use Permit for Insomnia Cookies, located at 5000 Belt Line Road, Suite 430, allowing the business to extend its operating hours.

The cookie shop may now remain open until 1 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday and until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday, helping it better serve Addison's late-night dining and entertainment crowd. Insomnia Cookies opened earlier this year and offers freshly baked cookies for takeout and delivery.

The business does not serve alcohol, and any future request to add on-site alcohol sales would require additional Town approval.
