Congratulations to our 2026 NCTCOG Regional Excellence Award recipients who were announced at our EPPC meeting this morning! This year’s recipients included Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster OEM, Community Preparedness Programs Working Group Moulage Subcommittee, Denton County OEM, Eduardo Saldivar (City of Arlington Fire Department), Billy Willis & Eric Gildersleeve (Denton County), Justin Cox & Michael Hernandez (NCTCOG), North Central Texas Regional Instructors, North Texas 2026 FIFA World Cup Health & Medical EPT Leadership Council. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to our region.

Over the past two months, our team has engaged the community through workshops, tabling events, and presentations, hosting 16 events, distributing 174 resilience kits, and connecting with over 200 residents to strengthen emergency preparedness across the region.
Together, we are building stronger, more resilient communities—one household at a time.

The Community Preparedness Programs Working Group held a regional G-317: Basic CERT Class that was led by regional instructors to provide the knowledge and skills for citizen volunteers to effectively serve their community during local emergencies. The class was held on April 4th, 11th, & 18th at the Dallas County Health & Human Services facility. Thanks to all who attended!
