The World Cup is here, and the excitement is everywhere!

"Got your jersey?"

From favorite teams to World Cup traditions, our staff shared what makes the beautiful game so much fun.

Juneteenth began in Texas.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved people in Galveston finally learned they were free. That moment became a celebration of freedom, resilience, community, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

As we recognize Juneteenth, we invite you to take a moment to learn more about the history behind this important day and the stories that continue to shape our communities.

UTA Libraries offers access to databases, historical resources, and research tools that can help you deepen your understanding of Juneteenth and African American history.

aculty expertise and library support can make a lasting difference for students.

When Dr. Hannah Lebovits envisioned a textbook designed specifically for her students, UTA Libraries helped bring that vision to life through a UTA CARES Grant. The result is a resource tailored to student learning needs, available from day one of class, and free from the financial barriers often associated with traditional textbooks.

Partnerships like this are one of the many ways UTA Libraries works alongside faculty to support student success in the classroom and prepare Mavericks for success beyond graduation.

Please excuse the noise at Central Library this week.

From June 15–18, crews will be upgrading the building's public address system between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Visitors may hear music, announcements and sound testing throughout the day as work is completed.

We appreciate your understanding and patience while these upgrades are underway. Thank you for helping us create a better experience for everyone who visits UTA Libraries.

Juneteenth is a day of remembrance, reflection and celebration.

Observed on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and marks the day in 1865 when the people of Texas finally received news of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

To honor this important chapter in our nation's history, UTA Libraries has created a special Juneteenth display on the second floor of the Central Library. The display features books that explore the history, significance and lasting impact of Juneteenth.

We invite you to stop by, learn more about the stories behind this federal holiday and deepen your understanding of a pivotal moment in American history.
