Yesterday at the Georgia State Capitol, Republican leaders announced they will NOT redraw Georgia’s congressional, State House, or State Senate maps during this special session.
But make no mistake — we are still watching 👀
There are still major issues on the table, including: 🗳️ Election issues tied to SB 189
📌 Georgia’s July 1, 2026 QR-code deadline
📄 Ongoing discussions about paper ballots / ballot-counting changes
🏠 Property tax relief
⛽ Gas tax suspension
✅ Appointments and other late-session decisions
As we move into Friday and Saturday, Capitol business may continue — even during the Juneteenth holiday period. That means we must stay informed, engaged, and visible. 💙
The Georgia Federation of Democratic Women is paying attention because these decisions impact representation, voting, and our communities.

Georgia, this is our moment to show up. 💙

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Governor Kemp has called a Special Session at the Georgia State Capitol, and the Georgia Federation of Democratic Women will be there.

The session begins at 2:00 PM, but we are meeting at 1:00 PM at the Capitol so we can stand together, stay informed, and make sure our voices are seen and heard.

This special session will address issues that could impact voting rights, fair maps, representation, and the future of communities across Georgia.

Democratic women cannot sit this one out.

Be present.
Be heard.
