At 18 years old, Kimberly has faced challenges no young person should have to endure. Her rare illness and the treatments she depended on often kept her from enjoying many of the experiences that make the teenage years so special.

When Kimberly learned she would receive a wish, she knew exactly what she wanted: a room makeover.

When she saw her transformed room, Kimberly was overwhelmed with gratitude. She shared that it was even more beautiful than she imagined - so much so that she slept soundly through the night for the first time in years. She even joked that she may not want to leave for college now that she finally has a space where she feels completely at peace.

We're also thrilled to share that Kimberly is now in remission, making this wish story even more meaningful!

Meet Jalen. 💙

At 14 years old, Jalen is a straight-A student who loves science, math, history, and trying new foods. He plays the saxophone, volunteers at his local library, and dreams of one day becoming President of the United States.

But Jalen is also battling lymphoma.

His wish is to travel to the Bahamas with his family- a chance to explore, make memories, and focus on being a kid.

Today, we're kicking off our Summer of Wishes campaign with a goal of granting over 200 wishes for Georgia children facing critical illnesses. Jalen is just one of hundreds of kids waiting for their life-changing wish.

Today is our birthday! Make-A-Wish Georgia has been granting wishes for kids like James for 31 years. 🥳

James may navigate the world differently, but that hasn’t stopped him from finding joy- especially when he’s with his sisters. 💙

Living with a nervous system disorder that limits his mobility and speech, 5-year-old James often watched from the sidelines. But thanks to his wish for an adaptive backyard playset, he now has a space built just for him.

More than a playset, James’ wish means independence, confidence, and being right in the middle of the fun where he belongs. ✨

In the last 31 years, we have granted more than 10,000 wishes for kids just like James across the state of Georgia, and we couldn't do it without your help!
