5️⃣ Calling tips for answering Georgia Relay calls for businesses
📲 Don’t hang up! It’s not a telemarketing call, even though the beginning may sound like it. The Communication Assistant (CA) will quickly speak on behalf of your customer.
📲 Speak directly to your customer. The CA is not a part of the conversation and will not acknowledge if you try to speak to them.
📲 Say “Go Ahead” when ready for a response. This signals to the CA that you have finished your thoughts.
📲 Speak slowly & clearly. This allows the CA to capture everything you say (it is not necessary to speak loudly).
📲 Be aware. The CA will type everything that is heard, including background noises and voice intonations.
❗️Print out a copy of these tips and have it near your business’s main phone (so you’re always ready for a customer using Georgia Relay) 👉 https://georgiarelay.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/CallingTips_Web.pdf
