Recognize Fallen Firefighters

Each year as part of the Georgia Fire Service Conference, firefighters who passed away during the previous year are recognized at the annual Memorial Service, scheduled this year for Thursday, October 2nd at 12:30 p.m. Firefighters do not have to have been a member of the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs or the Georgia State Firefighters Association to be recognized.

If you have lost a current or retired member of your department since the last conference (September 2024), please submit their information so that they may be recognized. All information is due by August 31, 2025.

Each year we select an individual to receive the James W Williams Outstanding Service Award. This year our Parliamentarian Dewayne Jamison was selected and presented the award at the recent Leadership Conference.
This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and commitment to the fire service. This award recognizes those whose outstanding contributions, selfless service and lasting impact have strengthened the fire service and the community they serve.
πŸŽ‰Chief Jamison, thank you for your service and dedication to improving the fire service in Georgia. 🫑
