GWC is a proven leader in the Atlanta community and has positioned ourselves to be adaptable to respond to the needs of those experiencing homelessness.

GWC provides more than 330 places for men who enter into programs geared to address the underlying reasons for their homelessness, such as unemployment, addictions, mental illness or domestic abuse. The Gateway Center is filled to capacity nearly every day of the year. Including those people who turn to the Gateway Center for point in time services (bathrooms and showers, laundry, clothing, storage, clinic), we serve over 500 people every day.

More than 200 meals served thanks to The Dennis Law Firm. They rolled up their sleeves and got to work in our kitchen preparing lunch and dinner for our guests experiencing homelessness.

Thanks for your time, talents, and treasures. Come back soon 🫶

When partnerships create impact, our guests win… and this is how 👇

Gateway Center is proud to partner with John Patton and Street Charities to provide 100 meal cards to our unhoused neighbors during next week’s outreach efforts across Atlanta and Fulton County.

These meal cards will offer immediate access to a hot meal at participating fast-food restaurants while our outreach teams work to connect individuals with critical resources, support services, and pathways to housing.

As we move through the summer, we look forward to growing this partnership and expanding our outreach efforts to meet people where they are. Together, we can provide more than a meal. We can create opportunities for stability, dignity, and hope.

Malcolm made the courageous decision to change the course of his life. He entered the Upward Program not only seeking recovery, but also a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
He engaged deeply in workshops and counseling, building essential coping skills and forming a strong, positive support network. His dedication and drive soon led to a defining opportunity—a culinary internship where he was able to channel his passion for cooking into meaningful progress.

His mentors quickly recognized his talent and commitment, noting his collaborative spirit and unwavering focus.

As his internship concluded, Malcolm’s hard work was rewarded with an offer of permanent employment at Ignatius House. He accepted with pride, marking not just a professional milestone, but a profound turning point in his life.

Malcolm is an example of what is possible through perseverance and support. His story inspires others in the Upward Program and beyond, demonstrating that recovery is not only attainable, but it can open the door to lasting purpose, stability, and success.

Thank you, Elevance Health Foundation, for your support that helped open doors for Malcolm!
