The last time you saw the Atlanta Civic Center redevelopment, we were breaking ground. Today, we’re excited to share that crews are actively building out multiple levels of this future community.

This first phase of development will bring 148 affordable apartment homes to the heart of Downtown Atlanta, including residences supported through Atlanta Housing’s HomeFlex program, helping create more housing opportunities for Atlanta residents.

Big progress is happening on site as construction continues to move forward:

✅ Walls are going up on new residential floors
✅ Structural flooring is being installed to support additional levels of the building
✅ Electrical, plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems are being built out throughout the structure
✅ Construction elevator systems are being installed to help crews safely move throughout the building
✅ Concrete block walls are taking shape on lower levels

What does this mean? The Atlanta Civic Center redevelopment is moving from the foundation stage into the spaces that will soon become homes and community-serving spaces for Atlanta residents.

Every beam, wall, and floor brings us one step closer to creating more affordable housing opportunities in the heart of our city.
