Through their participation in TIA, they were able to make their dream of a new bypass a reality. When your community participates in TIA, 75% of your Georgia region's proceeds pay for a set list of transportation projects and 25% is split up among all its counties and cities for local governments to use as discretionary funds for even more projects. ALL your region's $$ stays within the region, and everyone gets their own piece of the TIA pie. It's win-win.

Hancock County/ Sparta: it's time to celebrate, as TIA and local officials cut the ribbon and officially open the SR 15/East Sparta Bypass to traffic. The new roadway will direct large truck traffic away from Sparta's city streets, improving traffic efficiency and safety.

Richmond County/Augusta: this land near the Augusta Corporate Park that used to be wooded and hilly is now leveled and graded and has a huge concrete box culvert for drainage. Soon, crews will be installing track for a new railroad spur from the Norfolk Southern mainline, facilitating supply chain transport at the park.
